This special supplement to the September 2007 issue of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery contains the summaries, abstracts, and references for the AAOMS Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions. This supplement, offered to the more than 9,000 readers of the Journal, is intended to serve several purposes:

To provide AAOMS fellows and members, and other subscribers to the Journal, the opportunity to review in advance the content of the AAOMS Annual Meeting program.

To share in the scientific scope of the program by indexing its contents in the official scientific journal of the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the United States.

To allow all subscribers the course summaries as a home study guide and as a continuing education reference source.

The summaries have been arranged to conform as closely as possible to the schedule of the meeting programs. While every effort was made to provide supplements to all presentations, some summaries were not received in time for publication.

The AAOMS Committee on Continuing Education and Professional Development appreciates the cooperation of the clinicians and speakers who made this publication possible.

The final program for the 2007 Annual Meeting, which convenes in Honolulu, HI, October 8-13, 2007, will be available on site to attendees. Publication of the advance program for the 2008 Annual Meeting is planned in the spring. The 2008 Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, will convene September 15-20, 2008, in Seattle, WA.

The scientific material presented at this meeting has been made available by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for educational purposes only. This material is neither intended to represent the only, nor necessarily the best, methods or procedures appropriate for the health care situations discussed, but rather is intended to present an approach, view, statement, or opinion of the faculty that may be helpful to others who face similar situations.

The Association and the clinicians involved in the program disclaim any and all liability for injury or damage and for all claims that may arise out of use of the techniques demonstrated therein, whether these claims shall be asserted by members of the health care professions or any other person.

Attendees of the AAOMS meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, October 8-13, 2007, should bring this copy with them. Only a limited number of copies will be available at the meeting registration area, and then only for a fee.
